“I believe the choice to become a mother is the choice to become one of the greatest spiritual teachers there is.” – Oprah
Hello hello! It’s a new month and it means I’m sharing to you another inspirational story for our MomStar of the Month section!
What is MomStar of the Month about?
MomStar of the Month shares inspirational stories of Mothers, no matter what background, ethnicity or race; has a great career or not, is a first-time mom or not, it doesn’t matter.
Any Mom is a star in her own ways and with these stories, we share the journey of women who aim to inspire others and transform lives with a purpose.
We highlight different women in our society, with their spirit to motivate others. A unique opportunity for all of us to hear and understand how these Moms learned how to flourish and balance their lives in today’s overwhelming world.
I am thrilled to introduce to you a Stay at Home Mom whom I’ve known since High School.
Having 5 kids, it did not stop her from achieving her goals. She has continued to reach her dreams by incorporating Faith and Self-Love with her family; another inspirational story of balancing Motherhood and Life in general.
1. Tell us about yourself (ex: Family, Children, Profession, what do you do, etc)
Hello, my name is
2. As a Mom of 5, what keeps you busy at the moment? How do you manage your day to day activities with your children?
I prefer to be a Stay at Home Mom. I’m most of the time hands-on in taking care of my children with the help of our family and the people around us. I want to make sure all of them are in good health.
I personally teach them at home with the aid of Kumon worksheets. I do this because I want them to develop different values such as their study habits, discipline, and their sense of determination.
I want to build them with a strong foundation so they will not have a hard time in their studies.
We also own Zuri’s Travel Hub (www.zuristravelhub.com). As a family, we love to travel. Charles and I make sure we travel with the kids as we love to spend time with them as we make memories together. It builds our family relationship even stronger.
3. How do you manage your time and patience when dealing with kids of different ages?
Our children’s ages are 9, 6, 4, 2 and 3-months-old. Like other little children, they differ in many ways. I oftentimes spend quality time talking, teaching and playing with them.
As a nurse myself, I also follow the Reward and Punishment Theory. In order to develop their social & emotional skills, I let them attend religious activities with the Couples for Christ; and 3 of my boys join the Kids for Christ. I just let them be themselves enjoying the chaos, and fun of little kids.
4. What do you think is the most rewarding part of being a mom?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a mom is to witness them grow and see them succeed in the things they do.
Especially in school, they are all high achievers. That’s when you’ll realize that all your sacrifices and hardships are being paid off.
With my little one, I’m so happy seeing her smiles, the giggles, her hugs, and her kisses. All my children are my most precious & wonderful gifts in the world.
5. If you could pass one of your best habits to your children, what would it be?
At an early age, I bring God in our conversations & teach them to understand how to be God-fearing. Having that fear to God is the best habit I could pass on to them.
We bring them with us to observe the day of worship and if there is one person I would be thankful for, it is my husband. He is the one who pushes and encourages us that every Sunday is a Lord’s Day.
6. Leave us a message to all Moms who want to be a mompreneur, or for those who struggle with Motherhood.
Raising children is never easy; however, the hardship is not permanent as everything will pass in time.
My message to other moms is to set priorities for themselves, making it a point to schedule time with family and friends and do activities that help recharge energy. Have some relaxation and go for a vacation. Getting involved in your religious life and setting goals in every aspect of your life makes a huge difference. Learn how to balance and enjoy life to the fullest.
There you have it. Learning how to balance life greatly affects your everyday living. Setting priorities and goals are very important as
Having more kids does not mean your world has stopped from doing things you want in life. Learn how to practice Self-Love as it’s one of the ways to reward yourself. You are a hero of your own kids and having the strength and energy to face life helps you keep up with the pace.
